From curious child to experienced speaker: our weekend workshop plan
All of our summer workshops take place from Friday to Sunday, and are three hours long, including breaks. Over the course of these three days, your student will get an overview of everything we teach through our usual Level 1 Public Speaking classes, condensed into a day that focuses on Clarity, a day that focuses on Delivery, and a day that focuses on Expression.
At the conclusion of the third day, students will deliver final speeches to demonstrate the skills they’ve learned and experience they’ve acquired over the course of the weekend workshop.
Below is a rough breakdown of the topics covered during these days. For more information, get in touch with our customer support staff, who can put you in touch with one of our trained coaches!
What they’ll learn:
Clarity: The ability to be understood is one of the most important public speaking skills to learn. On the first day, students will start their public speaking journey by introducing themselves to one another, learn the importance of choosing words carefully, and practice the basics of storytelling.
Delivery: Public speaking isn’t just about the words you choose or the stories you tell, but how you use and tell them. The second day is devoted to focusing on body language, grabbing your audience’s attention, and how students can use details and imagery to create impressions on their audience.
Expression: Once your child has the basics of clarity and delivery down, it’s time for them to express themselves. On the third day, we’ll talk about their unique voice and then give them a chance to shine — with a practice speech and a final speech.
Give your child a gift that will last a lifetime – all for just $320.
